Hi everyone, please forgive one more week of unexpectedness. Normally, I host the Tell His Story (#tellhisstory) linkup on the first and third (and sometimes fifth) Tuesdays of the month. Lisa Jordan hosts on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
July has been a stressful month in the Takenaka household. We had planned a trip to visit family and to attend a memorial service for my brother-in-law, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year. On July 14th, after a long battle with cancer, my mother-in-law passed into eternity. Not surprisingly, our trip and our time with family were filled with emotion. I stayed in town for an extra week to help with packing up the items in my mother-in-lawâs home.Â
When this posts, I will be traveling home, and I’m hoping life begins to settle down. Lisa Jordan has very kindly offered to host this weekâs linkup. I intend to post next Tuesday. Thank you so much for staying with me during this crazy season. You are such a blessing in my life!
Head on over to Lisaâs place and link up your encouraging posts! I canât wait to connect with everyone next week!

Thank you so much for your prayers, Jennifer. They mean so much to our family!
A season now of grief and pain,
of mourning, and of loss,
for gratitude for what remains,
for counting up the cost
of what it truly means to love
within our mortal days;
though vacant seems the sky above,
we still need offer praise
to a God who seems so distant now
(on coffin-lid, handful of dirt),
but as you weep, remember how
He too bore the hurt
of the need to step away
on His Son’s own dying-day.
