Happy July, Everyone!
I hope you had a relaxing Independence Day celebration, though I suspect it looked different from past years.
My husband spent the last number of weeks working out of state, so I’ve decided to take a two-week blogging break to spend some time with family. I’m sharing a few glimpses of my summer so far. I hope you’ll join me back here in two weeks!
And, if you are looking for something to read and focus on Jesus this summer, I’m giving away a 28-day devotional book called, Finding God’s Presence in Everyday Living to my newsletter subscribers. Click the book cover below for more information.

This is a passage I continually come back to. I love that, when we are teachable, God guides us. He reminds us He is our hope when days look bleak.

I love these happy little flowers. Daisies are opening up all over our neighborhood right now.

I often see small animals on my morning walks. One morning, this baby hopped on the dirt trail I was on, and then tried to become invisible. He almost succeeded too.

I’ve discovered I love photographing close-up photos of small things. And when a flower has raindrops on it? Even better. The droplets are such a reminder of God’s refreshing love for us.

After years of wanting to have my quiet times with Jesus on our back deck, I finally thought to move our table away from the house so I could raise the umbrella. Listening to birdsong is a perfect accompaniment to meditating on God’s word.

These small yellow flowers have popped up everywhere this summer. I’m captivated by their swirling lines and multi-layered petals.

Colorado skies are powerful. Brilliant blue skies or clouds that seem to roll across the expanse . . . they all remind me of God’s power and His creativity.

This double-rainbow is one of the clearest I’ve ever seen. They are truly a symbol of hope. When storms roll into our lives, we can be assured they won’t last forever. And we know God sees us. His rainbows are a reminder He’s always with us.
Tell me, what has been a highlight of your summer so far?

Thank you, sweet Linda. I hope your summer is going well! Sending you a Colorado hug.
Far too ill to write anything coherent, but can I offer a nice ‘summer song’?

Andrew, I’m so so sorry you’ve been so ill. I continue to pray for you, my friend. And thanks for sharing this song. I think it’s going to be running on repeat in my mind today.
Highlights of my summer so far have been the great visits with grandson Rowan(who will be 3 years old this month) and his Dad and Mom(our son and daughter-in-law). We had to quarantine for a while due to my husband testing positive for COVID 19. We’re all clear now. Hubby never had any symptoms. Sharing time with family is the best. 🙂
Melissa, I’m so glad you’ve been able to see Rowan! That must do your heart so much good. 🙂 I’m so glad your husband and everyone are clear of COVID now, and that he never had any symptoms. I agree, sharing time with family is THE best!
